Construction Debris Removal in Conroe, TX
Remodel leftovers piling up in the driveway? Send one request; we pass it to one local junk removal company that hauls debris.
- Free to use
- One local company, not a list
- No obligation to hire
Referral website, not the contractor. How it works
Construction debris removal in Conroe means hauling away drywall, flooring, cabinets, lumber and other leftovers from a remodel or repair, usually priced by the load. To get a price, send a request with the form.
Conroe Junk Pros is a referral website, not a junk removal company. We send your request to one independent local junk removal company. You never pay us; companies we refer you to may pay us for referrals.
Pricing and scheduling come from that company. Ask for the price in writing, and tell the company exactly what's in the pile.
What renovation debris a hauler takes
Typical homeowner debris from a kitchen, bath, flooring or repair project:
- Drywall and plaster, including scraps and cut-out sections after water damage
- Flooring: carpet and pad, vinyl plank, laminate, hardwood, and tile (heavy)
- Cabinets, countertops, vanities, toilets and sinks
- Lumber, trim, doors and windows
- Fencing and decking
- Roofing shingles (very heavy; ask first)
- Packaging from new appliances, cabinets and fixtures
What usually doesn't go: liquid paint, solvents, liquid adhesives, and anything that might contain asbestos (the City of Montgomery's heavy-trash weekends, for one, turn it away). If you're tearing out old materials and aren't sure what's in them, have them tested before demolition, and tell the hauler what you know.
Why construction debris needs a hauler in Conroe
The usual free routes are closed to remodel debris:
- City carts: the City of Conroe says no construction debris goes in garbage or recycling carts.
- City bulk pickup: Conroe's monthly bulk service, run by Frontier Waste Solutions since October 1, 2025, excludes construction debris, concrete, bricks, roofing and lumber.
- County drop-off: the Montgomery County Precinct 3 Residential Recycling Facility at 1122 Pruitt Road in Spring accepts home remodeling debris for a fee. Bricks, concrete, asphalt, shingles and tile are accepted only in small amounts, as much as a wheelbarrow full, in containers you can throw away. That works for a bathroom tile scrap pile, not a roof tear-off.
For anything bigger, a junk removal company loads it and takes it to a landfill or recycler that accepts it.
What construction debris removal costs
National guides checked in October 2026:
| What | Typical national range | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Building materials | $100 to $800 | This Old House |
| Carpet | $75 to $300 | This Old House |
| 1/2 truck | $200 to $400 | This Old House |
| 1/2 truck | $175 to $375 | Fixr |
| Full truck (13 to 17 cubic yards) | $600 to $800 | This Old House |
| Full truck | $450 to $650 | Fixr |
Weight matters more here than with furniture. HireAHelper lists heavy items like concrete among things that can carry an extra charge. A truck full of tile or shingles weighs far more than a truck full of sofas. Expect a company to ask what the debris is, and to price dense loads differently. These are national ranges, not quotes. The junk removal cost guide has more detail.
Junk removal vs. a container for a remodel
Both get debris off your property. They suit different projects.
| Junk removal | Roll-off container | |
|---|---|---|
| Who loads it | The crew | You or your contractor |
| How long it's on site | A few hours | Days or weeks |
| Best for | A pile that already exists; one-time cleanups | Long projects with steady debris |
| Driveway space | None after the job | Takes a driveway or street spot |
| Price based on | How much truck space you fill | Container size, rental days and weight |
This site takes junk removal requests only. We don't take requests for dumpster or roll-off container rental. If you're considering a container in Conroe, note that the city requires every commercial solid waste hauler to hold a commercial franchise approved by City Council. Ask any container company about that, and ask your HOA about driveway or street placement.
Getting a debris pile ready
- Keep it in one place, on a tarp or plywood to protect the driveway and lawn.
- Separate the heavy stuff, like tile, concrete and shingles, so the company can price it fairly.
- Pull out what can be reused. The Habitat for Humanity Montgomery County ReStore on Highway 242 accepts donations from homeowners, contractors and builders, including home improvement items, and offers free pickup of large donations, usually booked one to two weeks ahead.
- Set aside liquids. Leftover paint, stains and solvents go to the Precinct 3 household chemical days (Wednesdays and the third Saturday, $10 per 5 gallons), not the debris pile. TCEQ says latex paint cans less than a quarter full can be opened and left to dry, then thrown away.
- Watch for nails and sharp edges. Keep kids and pets away from the pile.
Working with your contractor
If a contractor is doing the remodel, check whether debris removal is in the contract. If it's not, ask whether they'll stack debris in one spot so a hauler can take it in one trip.
What to ask before you hire
- Do you take this type of debris (tile, shingles, concrete)?
- Is heavy debris priced differently, or is there a weight limit per load?
- Will you load it from inside the house, or does it need to be outside?
- Where does it go, and do you recycle metal or clean wood?
- Is the price final once you see the pile?

Common questions
Will Conroe's trash service take remodel debris?
No. The City of Conroe says construction debris isn't accepted in garbage or recycling carts, and its bulk service excludes construction debris, concrete, bricks, roofing and lumber. You need a hauler or a disposal site.
Can I take construction debris to the county drop-off?
Only a little. The Montgomery County Precinct 3 facility takes home remodeling debris for a fee, but bricks, concrete, asphalt, shingles and tile only in small amounts, about a wheelbarrow's worth, in containers. It's for county residents with proof of residency.
Is junk removal or a dumpster better for a remodel?
Junk removal suits a pile that already exists, or a project where you don't want a container in the driveway for weeks. A container suits a long project where debris comes out a little at a time. This site takes junk removal requests only, not container rentals.
How much does construction debris removal cost?
This Old House puts building-material removal at about $100 to $800 nationally, and a full truckload at $600 to $800. Heavy debris like tile, concrete and shingles can cost more per load. The company we refer you to sets its own price.
