Furniture and Mattress Removal in Conroe, TX

Old couch, worn-out mattress or a room full of furniture? Send one request; we pass it to one local junk removal company.

  • Free to use
  • One local company, not a list
  • No obligation to hire

Referral website, not the contractor. How it works

Furniture removal in Conroe means a crew carries out couches, mattresses, tables or dressers and hauls them to a landfill, recycler or donation center. To get a price, send a request with the form.

Conroe Junk Pros is a referral website, not a junk removal company. We send your request to one independent local junk removal company. You never pay us; companies we refer you to may pay us for referrals.

Pricing and scheduling come from that company. Ask for the price in writing before anything is loaded.

What furniture removal covers

Furniture is the most common single-item junk job. The crew handles the heavy part: getting it off the second floor, through the door frame and onto the truck without gouging the walls. Typical requests:

  • Couches, sectionals, sleeper sofas and recliners. Sleeper sofas and power recliners are heavier than they look because of the metal frames and motors.
  • Mattresses and box springs. Bulky but light. Often priced per piece.
  • Bed frames, headboards and bunk beds. Usually taken apart first.
  • Dressers, armoires and entertainment centers. Solid wood pieces are heavy; particleboard pieces often come apart in the move.
  • Dining sets, desks, office chairs and patio furniture.
  • Whole rooms after a move, a remodel or a parent moving to assisted living. For whole-house jobs, see estate cleanouts.

What furniture removal costs

National cost guides checked in October 2026:

Item Typical national range Source
Couch or sectional $300 to $375 HireAHelper
Bulky furniture $80 to $400 This Old House
Mattress or box spring $70 to $100 HireAHelper
Mattress $75 to $150 This Old House
1/8 truck (common minimum) $75 to $125 This Old House
1/4 truck $125 to $200 This Old House

If you have several pieces, ask for a volume price as well as item prices. One price for a shared load can beat several item prices added together. These are national ranges, not quotes. The junk removal cost guide has the full load-size table and a quick way to measure your pile.

Furniture and Conroe's bulk pickup

Conroe's trash service moved to Frontier Waste Solutions on October 1, 2025. The City of Conroe describes bulk service as appliances, furniture and other household items too large for normal weekly collection. It's once a month, and you must schedule it with Frontier at least two working days ahead, by phone, email, website or app. Bulk items go out in front of your house, near the roadway, by 6:30 a.m. on your service day.

Bulk pickup works well if you can wait for your week and can drag the piece to the curb. A hauler makes more sense if:

  • the furniture is upstairs or too heavy to move safely yourself
  • your bulk week is weeks away and you're closing on a house or moving out
  • your HOA doesn't allow items sitting at the curb ahead of pickup
  • you have more than the city will take in one month

Check the City of Conroe's garbage and recycling page or call Frontier at 936-258-9035 for your bulk week and current limits.

Donate usable furniture first

If a piece is in good shape, donating it keeps it out of the landfill and may cost you nothing. The Habitat for Humanity Montgomery County ReStore, at 9407 State Highway 242, sells donated furniture, appliances and home goods. Proceeds help fund local home building and repairs. It marked 10 years in February 2026.

  • Drop-off: Tuesday through Saturday, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
  • Free pickup: Habitat offers a free standard pickup for large donations, usually scheduled one to two weeks ahead.
  • Faster pickup: a priority pickup within 48 hours is available for a fee through Habitat's partner, ReSupply.

You get a tax receipt either way. Habitat asks for new and gently used donations, so stained or broken pieces are a job for a hauler. Ask the junk removal company whether it drops off donations as part of the job.

Mattresses take extra thought

Mattresses are awkward to move, and not every charity takes used ones. Your options:

  1. City bulk pickup, scheduled through Frontier, if you can get it to the curb.
  2. County drop-off. The Montgomery County Precinct 3 Residential Recycling Facility in Spring charges $10 for a twin mattress or box spring and $20 for a full, queen or king, for county residents with proof of residency.
  3. A junk removal company, priced per piece or as part of a larger load.
  4. The retailer. If you're buying a new mattress, ask whether the store will take the old one at delivery.

How a furniture pickup usually goes

  1. You describe the items. A list or photos helps the company price it. Mention stairs, tight turns and anything very heavy.
  2. You get a price. Ask whether it's per item or by volume, and whether it can change on site.
  3. The crew arrives and confirms. Agree on the final price before loading starts.
  4. They carry it out and load the truck. Clear a path and move anything fragile out of the way.
  5. You pay once the space is empty.

What to ask before you hire

  • Is the price per item or by truck volume? Which is cheaper for my list?
  • Are disposal fees included, or added on top?
  • Do you take mattresses, and is there a per-piece charge?
  • Do you donate usable items, or does everything go to the landfill?
  • Will you protect floors and door frames on the way out?

Common questions

How much does it cost to haul away a couch?

HireAHelper puts a couch or sectional at about $300 to $375 nationally, and This Old House puts bulky furniture at $80 to $400. A loveseat costs less than a sectional with a sleeper. The company we refer you to sets its own price.

Is there free furniture removal in Conroe?

Two options cost nothing: Conroe's monthly bulk pickup through Frontier Waste Solutions, if you can get the item to the curb, and Habitat for Humanity's free donation pickup for large items in resellable shape. Both need to be scheduled ahead.

Will a donation center take my mattress?

Not every charity takes used mattresses, so ask before you load it. Otherwise, a hauler or the county Precinct 3 facility ($10 for a twin, $20 for a full, queen or king) are the usual options.

Do I need to move the furniture outside first?

No. Junk removal crews normally carry items out from where they are. Tell the company if something is upstairs, in a tight space, or very heavy, because that affects time and price.
