Referral website, not the contractor. How it works
Junk removal in Willis covers furniture, appliances, cleanouts and yard debris, the same jobs as in Conroe. To get a price, send a request with the form, and pick "Willis" as your town.
Conroe Junk Pros is a referral website, not a junk removal company. We send your request to one independent local junk removal company. You never pay us; companies we refer you to may pay us for referrals.
Pricing and scheduling come from that company. Ask whether there's a trip charge for your address.
What's different about Willis
A railroad town just north of Conroe. Willis is eight miles north of Conroe in north-central Montgomery County, according to the Texas State Historical Association. It grew up around the Houston and Great Northern Railroad in the early 1870s, on a townsite donated by Galveston merchants Peter J. and Richard S. Willis. In 1874 its residents tried, and failed, to move the county seat there from Montgomery.
Its own trash service and bulk day. The City of Willis runs residential trash through Waste Management, with one 96-gallon cart per home. Bulk trash is collected on the last Monday of each month, limited to 8 items a month, according to the city's new-resident page. Bulk items can include broken-down and bundled moving boxes, old furniture, appliances, yard waste, and tree and branch bundles. Household garbage can't go out as bulk.
Refrigerators need paperwork. The city says Waste Management can't dispose of items containing CFC refrigerant, such as refrigerators and freezers, without certification that the Freon has been properly removed and recycled. That follows federal rules: under EPA requirements, the final person in the disposal chain must make sure refrigerant is recovered before an appliance is disposed of.
Hazardous items picked up at home. The City of Willis offers residents a collection service for household special materials, scheduled from home. Items include automotive products such as used motor oil, oil filters and batteries, and garden chemicals such as pesticides and weed killers. Call City Hall at 936-856-4611 to schedule or ask what's covered.
When a hauler makes more sense in Willis
The city's bulk program is a good deal for a few pieces at the curb. A junk removal company fits better when:
- you have more than 8 items, like a whole garage or a house cleanout
- the last Monday of the month is too far away
- the items are too heavy or awkward to get to the curb
- a fridge or freezer needs to go and you don't have a Freon certificate
- you're outside city limits and don't have city service
